One-Wheel Progress Report

Streets connect us. They carry us to lovers, mentors, mothers, yoga classes, and big ideas. On the street, we are all travelers—equalized by the path, bonded by movement, exposed to wonder. And what better stage for the human story than the street itself?

At Unicycle Productions, we believe Street Arts—also known as Outdoor Arts or Performance in Public Spaces—are among the most vital, democratic, and exhilarating art forms alive today. They transform ordinary city corners into cathedrals of imagination, where the audience becomes part of the performance and anything—rain, sirens, birdsong—can shape the show.

Why Street Arts? Because they:

  • Build community and social connection.
  • Spark local economies and energize public spaces.
  • Offer radical accessibility—no tickets, no velvet ropes.
  • Celebrate cultural identity, storytelling, and joy in shared places.
  • Break artistic boundaries through experimentation and freedom.
  • Fuel movements—from Bread & Puppet to ACT UP to Aurillac.
  • Street Arts are not just a style—they are a mindset, a way of engaging with the world and calling people in. If theater wants to be urgently relevant, it must meet people where they are—outside, together, in motion.

We’re passionate about this form. We believe in its power. And we need more artists, presenters, and partners to make it thrive.

So—if you’ve ever dreamed of making a whole city your stage: get in touch, we can help you.
