Let’s start with the idea that you are not an audience and that, therefore, this is not a show. This is an experience – or better yet, an experiment – in which you will be both actors and test subjects, and above all, the sole and happy beneficiaries.

In MISSION ROOSEVELT, we want to move through urban space, follow a path, and leave a mark – a colorful trace on the ground. We want to share with you the pleasure of the forbidden, the thrill of using a taboo object, something being used for the first time, something that could justify the entire act by itself.

The wheelchair is the tool and instrument of MISSION ROOSEVELT – a symbol of everything we believe doesn’t concern us, and yet today, belongs to us. It is a metaphor for inequality, through which we reclaim the city.

An urban experiment, a performance that calls for public participation, where the audience – seated in wheelchairs – becomes a joyful troupe taking over urban space. MISSION ROOSEVELT takes over the city.

Iacopo Fulgi – Director, Author and Actor
An actor since 1993, in 2001 he co-founded Tony Clifton Circus, an Italian company dedicated to performative theatre, where he works as director, writer, and performer. With TCC, he has created numerous shows that have been – and continue to be – presented worldwide. He regularly leads workshops and training sessions on acting, particularly in public spaces, as well as on directing and actor coaching, in several countries around the world. He also supports artistic projects in circus and theatre as an outside eye and tutor, participating in various European projects aimed at helping young artists develop their artistic practice. Alongside his work with Tony Clifton Circus, he also develops other artistic projects. Under the name Ossiuiri, he explores various artistic fields: interactive sound installations, video, cinema, and urban performance.
